nice pictures. just to update everyone i managed to drive from florida to cape cod without a hitch, with a nice 2 day stop in MD to visit eric's family. Of course, two days ago i backed the audi Q7 i've been driving into a tree... can't wait to tell my cousins about it!!! :O thankfully my uncle knows a guy who can fix it under the insurance, my dad said to lie to them and say someone side-swiped it so insurance will cover the damage (not really that big a dent, but it is an overly-expensive car...) other than that, i still don't have a permanent place to live this summer. we're currently roughing it in a camper in my aunt and uncle's yard in exchange for 24-hour babysitting services, or as my aunt calls it, "birth control". i'm striking a deal with the local wildlife center to hook me up with cheap housing in exchange for being their turtle monitor (the state cut their funding so they can no longer pay anyone to do it). if this works out, i'll be doing that during the day, and riding my bike to my uncle's new eco-friendly-over-expensive-seafood restaurant (tourists eat that crap up!) at night. hope everyone else is slightly more secure in their living and working arrangements. i'm applying to grad schools and peace corps this summer, so if anyone catches wind of any sweet tropical ecology research opportunities let me know!!! peace and love, Rachael
